Suelo, Bernardino to play chess simultaneous games in Dipolog

MANILA---Fide Master Roberto Ramos Suelo Jr. and National Master/ United States chess master Almario Marlon Quiroz Bernardino Jr. will hold simultaneous exhibition games as part of P'gsalabuk Festival Day on May 13 (Friday), 1 p.m. at the Busog 28 Main, National Highway Minaog (Infront DICT) in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
Suelo and Bernardino will play against select adult and students of Zamboanga del Norte during the event organized and hosted by the Dipolog City Chess Association in cooperation with Barkadahan Para sa Bansa Party list, Ranell Cendy Ticketing, Busog 28 Fried Chicken and Bayanihan Chess Club.
Suelo scores a career breakthrough when he ruled the 1996 Philippine Junior Chess Championships while Bernardino topped the 2005 Arlington, Virginia Open Chess Championships.
Among those invited to play representing adult and students are Mindanao Chess God Father Bebs Cheng, siblings Ranzeth Marco and Princess Rane Magallanes, Joemel Narzabal and Jillianne Jumalon.
“Having FM Suelo and NM Bernardino here will really boost their spirits." said Dipolog City Chess Association President Ronald T. Solon.
"This will be a great opportunity for People from Zamboanga del Norte, even young players, to play with FM Suelo and NM Bernardino," he added.
Registration is P150 per player on a first-come, first-served basis limited to 60 participants only.-Marlon Bernardino-
