NM Cu wins Umban's Family Open Arena online chess tilt PhilBoxing.com Sat, 12 Feb 2022 MANILA---National Master Ivan Travis Cu won the Umban's Family Open Arena online bullet chess tournament on Friday, February 11, 2022. The 12-year-old Cu, a Grade 7 pupil of Xavier School in San Juan City finished with 60 points in 34 games for a win rate of 82 percent and performance rating of 2576 to win the event that drew 138 players. The online tournament had time a control of one minute with an increment of one second and players must win as many games in two hours of play virtually held at Lichess Platform. Cu won 28 games, drew four and lost 2 games for his aggregate score. International Master Joel Banawa took the second spot with 55 points on 38 games and a win rate of 71 percent on 27 wins for a performance rating of 2431. In third place is Renato Candidato Jr. who had 52 points. After halving the point with Francis Glenn Panes, Cu won his last four outings against Candidato, IM Banawa, Rommel Valdez and 1995 Philippine Junior Champion National Master Rolando Andador.
