Regidor earns a trip to KO stage of the FIDE Online Rapid World Cadets & Youth chess championship By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Sat, 21 Aug 2021 MANILA, Philippines---Woman National Master Kaye Lalaine Regidor of Santa Rosa City, Laguna booked her ticket to the Knock Out Stage of the FIDE Online Rapid World Cadets & Youth chess championship on August 26 to 31, 2021 virtually held at Tornelo Platform. The 12-year-old Regidor, a Grade 6 student of Rizal Dila Elementary School Santa Rosa City, Laguna placed tenth with 7.5 points on Saturday. Regidor, playing under the guidance of Arena Grandmaster Dr. Fred Paez, scored victories over Enkhsaikhan Odmaa of Mongolia in the first round, Keilyn Elizabeth Duque Roca of Guatemala in the second round, Ariadni Papetta in the third round, Mireya Jassly Sanchez Cruz in the fifth round, WCM Enerel Ariunbold of Mongolia in the sixth round, Manasvi Sanikommu of India in the seventh round and Dang Le Xuan Hien of Vietnam in the tenth and final round. She split the point with Gurvanbaatar Urangoo of Mongolia in the eight round. She lost to Elvin Esma Buyuk of Turkey in the fourth round and Mireya Jassly Sanchez Cruz of Peru in the fifth round. Meanwhile, 22nd place Bonjoure Fille Suyamin of General Trias City, Cavite (7 pts.) and 74th place Glydel Janine Rodrigo of Cebu City (5 pts.) failed to advance to the knock out stage. Anastasia Kirtadze of Georgia topped Girls 12 and under class with 9 points. Other qualifiers are Chester Neil Reyes of Rodriguez, Rizal (Open 16 and under), Lexie Grace Hernandez of Angeles City, Pampanga (Girls 16 and under), Jersey Marticio of Cabuyao City, Laguna (Girls 14 and under), April Joy Claros of Angeles City, Pampanga (Girls 14 and under) and Wayne Diaz Ruiz of Santa Rosa City, Laguna (Open 14 and under).
