Richard "Diamante" Zamora Training Camp Quotes

PhilBoxing.com

CORONA, CA (August 12, 2021) – Battle tested Mexican warrior, Richard "Diamante" Zamora (19-4, 12 KOs), has plans to upset Thompson Boxing’s undefeated lightweight prospect, Ruben “Ace” Torres (15-0, 9 KOs), an 8-round main event bout happening this Saturday, August 14th, 2021. The Thompson Boxing event titled “We. Are. Back.”, will be their first show with fans in attendance.

Tickets priced at $50, $75, & $100, and are available for purchase by calling 714-935-0900, or online at ThompsonBoxing.com. This event will take place at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, CA. Doors open at 5:00 pm PT with the first fight starting at 7:00 pm PT.

Zamora, who just finalized his final day of training camp, gives his thoughts on his upcoming bout with Torres, his future and more.

On his recent training camp:

"Camp has been good, a bit tough as I am pushing myself to the limits. I know this is a life-changing moment if I win this fight, so I have invested all of my time and money into this camp so that I can give myself the best chance to win."

On his matchup with Ruben Torres:

"I am impressed with Ruben Torres as a fighter and a person, but in the ring, I won't show the same respect. I think he is still very young in the sport of boxing and hasn't got the experience needed yet to win at the next level. After I beat him, he will become a much better fighter."

On what a win will do for his career:

"I want to change my future as a pro boxer. Right now, I am taking short-notice fights, and a lot of hard fights to get opportunities. This is the first camp in many fights in which I am healthy and had time to prepare for my opponent. This is my biggest chance to prove myself in the sport of boxing.”

On fighting in front of fans since the pandemic:

"I love the atmosphere of having the fans in attendance and being able to feed off their energy. I know my opponent has a lot of fans in the L.A. area, so I will also be motivated by any noises I hear in the crowd. My plan is to give him his first loss in front of his people."

This event will stream live for free on the Thompson Boxing Promotions website (www.thompsonboxing.com), as well as their Facebook and YouTube pages, in additions to Fight Hub TV, our proud Media Partner.

Rich Marotta will operate as the blow-by-blow commentator with expert commentary by Doug Fischer and Steve Kim. Jessica Rosales will serve as the onsite ringside reporter.

This event is sponsored by Thompson Building Materials, transforming spaces in beautiful places; Omega Products International, the leading stucco manufacturer in the United States; Henry / Fortifiber, moisture system control as easy as 1,2,3, and Makita, rule the outdoors.
