VBS 3: Jordi Requejo defends WKN super welterweight title against Christian Berthely on July 10 in Villejuif, France PhilBoxing.com Sun, 04 Jul 2021  The third edition of Villejuif Boxing Show (VBS 3) takes place at Espace congres des Esselieres in Villejuif (commune in southern suburbs of Paris) on Saturday, July 10. The event features a series of bouts with WKN World and European titles contested in the headliner of the show. In the main event Jordi Requejo of Spain puts his World Kickboxing Network super welterweight title on the line, when he faces top contender Christian Berthely. The championship bout is scheduled for five rounds. Requejo earned the belt by TKO in the first round against Stefan Meszaros in May 2019. In his most recent bout in May the same year he went to a unanimous draw with Mickael Pignolo in a three-round non-title bout. Berthely holds WKN Intercontinental super welterweight title. In his previous outing in March 2019, he scored a unanimous decision against Altynbek Zhunusov to retain the belt, that he had earned by KO in the first round against Nordine Saidane. In the VBS 3 co-main event Christelle Barbot of France goes up against Katarzyna Jaworska of Poland. The pair squares off in the women's kickboxing battle with WKN European lightweight title at stake. Among the undercard bouts Benjamin Gerbet faces Madicke Kamar, and Amine Kebir takes on Cyril Cereyon. The event also features the contests in pankration and boxing, as well as a series of amateur matchups. The VBS promoter is Pascal Arene of Academie des Boxes de Villejuif. The list of special guests includes living legend, former multi-weight WKN World champion Osman Yigin, singer Lord Kossity and former boxing world champion Christophe Tiozzo.
