Chavez-Duran Mega Exhibition Fight?
By Gabriel F. Cordero PhilBoxing.com Sat, 03 Jul 2021

For a long time the possibility of an exhibition match has been sought between the legendary former world champions and members of the Canastota Boxing International Hall of Fame, Julio Cesar Chavez and Roberto ¨Manos de Piedra¨ Duran.
Duran and Chavez apparently agree and there is another strong possibility that there are two exhibitions, one of them in Mexico and the other in Panama.
Chavez was a three-time world champion and Duran was a four-time world champion.
Duran had a record of 103 wins with 70 knockouts and 16 losses in his professional career between 1968 and 2001, being the only boxer in history who has fought in 5 different decades facing big names like: Ken Buchanan, Esteban de Jesus, Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Marvin Hagler, Hector Camacho, Iran Barkley, Jorge Castro, Pipino Cuevas, Wilfredo Benitez, Carlos Palomino, Ernesto Marcel, Vinnie Pazienza, Davey Moore and William Joppy among others.
Chavez had a record of 107 wins with 85 knockouts, 6 losses and two draws in a professional career between 1980 and 2005 facing big names like: Mario Martinez, Roger Mayweather, Rocky Lockridge, Juan Laporte, Edwin Rosario, Rafael Limon, Jose Luis Ramirez, Meldrick Taylor, Hector Camacho, Greg Haugen, Pernell Whitaker, Frankie Randall, Oscar de La Hoya, Miguel Angel Gonzalez and Kostya Tszyu among others.
