EVERLAST TEAMS UP WITH WORLD TITLE CHALLENGER JAZZA DICKENS

PhilBoxing.com

London, UK - 28 June 2021 - Everlast, the brand of choice for generations of world champion athletes, today proudly welcomes upcoming world title challenger Jazza Dickens as its latest brand partner.

Dickens has been at the forefront of British boxing for over a decade, and next month will have the biggest fight of his career so far when he faces Kid Galahad for the vacant IBF featherweight title.

The two men will do battle at Matchroom Fight Camp on August 7, with Dickens given the chance to achieve a lifelong ambition by becoming world champion.

It has already been an incredible journey for the Liverpool boxer, who most recently won the coveted Golden Contract tournament thanks to impressive wins over Ryan Walsh, Leigh Wood and Carlos Ramos.

His success in that tournament saw Dickens win the WBO European featherweight title too, while the 30-year-old has also held the IBF European featherweight title, British super-bantamweight title, and English super-bantamweight title during his career.

He is the latest to join Everlast’s existing stable of elite athletes, which includes Josh Taylor, Conor Benn, Jack Catterall, Lee McGregor, Chantelle Cameron, Liam Smith, Archie Sharp, Craig Richards, Natasha Jonas, Ramla Ali, Jordan Gill and Hopey Price. Together, the #TeamEverlast fighters seek to inspire the fight in us all.

In signing a long-term partnership with the premier fight sports and fitness brand, the athletes will use Everlast equipment and wear the new Greatness sportswear range. Battle-tested in one of the toughest athletic environments, Everlast products have been imagined by a hundred years in the gym, designed and engineered to empower your best self.

They exemplify Everlast’s values of authenticity and dedication, as we champion brave individuality, seeking out people and partners who express themselves boldly and creatively.

Commenting on the partnership, Dickens said: "I'm proud to be partnering with Everlast. Anybody who knows me knows that boxing is my life, and having a powerhouse like Everlast throwing their support behind me is a true blessing.

"I'm set for the biggest fight of my life next month, so with Everlast on board I'm more than confident that we can bring the world title back to Liverpool."

Chris Zoller, Everlast’s VP of Marketing and Product Development, added: "We are delighted to unveil Jazza Dickens as our latest Everlast brand partner. He is one of the most dedicated fighters in the sport and we are certain that he will represent Everlast in the perfect way.

"He has a huge fight ahead of him next month for the IBF featherweight title, and we know without a shadow of a doubt that he can join Josh Taylor and Chantelle Cameron in becoming Everlast's latest world champion."

Dickens made his debut back in 2011 at the famous Olympia in Liverpool, a venue he would make home throughout his career, competing there on six occasions.

It didn't take him long to make an impact, defeating Jon Fernandes to win the vacant English super-bantamweight title in March 2013, before going on to challenge for the vacant British super-bantamweight title a few months later during his first encounter with Galahad.

Dickens won the British title in March 2015 by defeating Josh Wale, and he then went on to make a successful defence of the belt by overcoming Martin Ward in November of that year.

Dickens shared the ring with boxing legend Guillermo Rigondeaux in July 2016 when they met for the WBA super-bantamweight title, before the Liverpool hero began a superb run of form which has seen him win his last eight fights in a row.

The most recent of those came in December, where Dickens defeated Ryan Walsh by unanimous decision in the Golden Contract final, setting up his all-British world title battle with Galahad next month.

Everlast and its users share an inner and outer strength. It is for those with a strong sense of self and commitment in whatever they do, in both athletic and non-athletic endeavours. Everlast supports the individual spirit that drives uniqueness and greatness within each of us.
