Dallas, TEXAS -- As reported last week by Rappler, former pound-for-pound king and WBA welterweight "champion in recess" Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to fight Mikey Garcia next month in Dubai, per a social media post by one of the fighting senator's most trusted advisers, Arnold Vegafria.
But nothing official has been announced since, and Garcia (40-1, 30 KOs) is kind of tired of waiting.
So on the weigh-in of today's Canelo Alvarez-Billy Joe Saunders super middleweight unification bout at the AT & T Center, where some 80,000 fans are expected to be in attendance, the 33-year old Garcia told PhilBoxing.com that he hopes to travel to the Philippines to meet his fans and work something out to make the blockbuster duel to come to fruition.
Senator Manny, the ball is in your court. (Cesar Portillo)
