Hurricane Julaton Blew Away de la Torre

PhilBoxing.com

Las Vegas, Nevada -- Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton, that pretty Filipino lass from northern California who looks more of a fashion model than a boxer, kept her professional record unblemished at three straight wins.

Since turning pro on November 2, 2007 when she easily beat Rita Valentini via a unanimous decision over 6 rounds at the Morongo Casino Resort at Cabazon, California Julaton had been on a roll. In her second fight as a pro last February 7, 2008, she beat Carly Batey, a much more experienced fighter with 6 fights on her belt. Julaton won via a hard fought split decision during an all-ladies fight card held at the Pechanga Casino Resort at Temecula, California.

Tonight at the Hard Rock Caf? Casino Resort, Julaton registered a win that was more spectacular than her two previous fights. Julaton beat Carla de la Torre late substitute for her original opponent via a 4 round unanimous decision. Her win delighted the many Filipinos who really came to town to watch the fight card on Saturday at the Mandalay Bay featuring Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. Their presence here tonight is just some sort of an appetizer that involved Manny?s brother Bobby Pacquiao versus Urbano Antillon. Pacquiao incidentally lost via a first round KO in the hands of Antillon. Antillo improved his record to 22 wins and no loss.

Julaton is coached by Freddie Roach and trained at the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood, California alongside Manny Pacquiao, his brother Bobby, and the two other Filipinos in the fight card on Saturday, Diosdado Gabi and Ernel Fontanilla.

?Ana is well on her way to greater success?, his manager Angelo Reyes of the Box Fu You Gym in Oakland, California happy mentioned. ? All we need to do is stay and train under Freddie Roach who can coach and train her even better?, Reyes added.

Reyes promised to keep Julaton busy this year and possibly go for a title fight sometime before the year ends, or towards the middle of next year. ? She had an extensive amateur career so after a few more pro fights she will be ready for the big time?, Reyes informed his writer.

Latest news indicates that Freddie Roach would like Julaton to fight as an undercard on Penalosa fight on April 6 at the Araneta Coliseum to showcase her talents before the people of her homeland.
