Undefeated Croatian Featherweight Arijan Goricki Wins in Germany PhilBoxing.com Sun, 13 Dec 2020 ![]() Undefeated featherweight prospect Arijan Goricki (7-0-1, 3KOs) of Croatia posted another win by stopping veteran Jozsef Ajtai (22-17-0, 14KOs) of Hungary in the second round of their 8-round scheduled contest Saturday night at the Boxclub Eggenstein in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, Germany. The 23-year-old Goricki himself sent a report and photos of the fight to PhilBoxing.com describing what had transpired. "In round one, I started with left jab. Jozsef was trying to escape so he was moving through the ring. In round two, he started to stand in front of me which was bad idea. I hit him in the spleen and he went down on his knee to save some time for himself and have some air. Then I put him down again with a punch to the liver. He got up again and tried to run to survive the round. I cut the ring and forced him to throw a punch. Then with a counter I hit him with clean shot in head, more precisely, behind the ear. That must disturbed his equilibrium and he immediately fell to the canvas. The referees right away stopped the fight.
Goricki drops Ajtai. "This was my first fight for 8 rounds. I wanted to go until later rounds but the opportunity came to finish the fight and I didn't want to miss it. "As always, I need to thank my sponsors who support me in every way: Rajska rajcice, Admiral casino, X-Logic, Ax-soling, Gradska kavana Zapresic, Dentum and everyone else who is helping but wants to stay anonymous. "I would also like to thank my team for sticking to my side in good and bad times. Without them I couldn't progress from fight to fight as I do now. Thank you."
