Here is what Mielnicki had to say about training camp, Huerta and more:

About training:
Training camp is going great. I’m in Houston putting it the work with Ronnie Shields. I have great sparring and my strength and conditioning and nutrition are on point. We’re excited for April 11. We’ve got a tough opponent in front of us, but we’re looking to make another statement.

On his opponent Huerta:
I watched tape on him. He’s a tall southpaw and a good body puncher. He likes to use angles. He’s 15-0 for a reason and I’m expecting the best version of Omar Huerta on April 11.

On fighting in Atlantic City on ProBoxTV:
It’s exciting. Atlantic City is new for me. I fought in the Prudential Center a bunch of times. This should be an exciting atmosphere and a different feel on another big stage. Should be exciting when everybody supports me shows up. I plant to give them their money’s worth that night. It should be a a great night of fights.

Is he doing anything different in training for this fight?
I’m not really doing anything different for this fight. To me, every fight is a world title fight. Ever since my first career hiccup I realized this isn’t something to play with. Every fight is a world championship fight, and every fight could be your last because it’s dog eat dog. Throughout these 12 weeks I’ve been locked in and putting in the hard work.

How does he picture the fight playing out?
I feel like Omar will be tough to figure out the range at first. He’s tall and I’m tall. I feel like it’ll be exciting and action packed. I gotta do what I gotta do. Control the pace and make it known that I’m in charge. That how it has to be with everybody. The action you see all the time on ProBoxTV, you will see again in this fight.

On his relationship with trainer Ronnie Shields
Ronnie and I have been together for close to three years and seven or eight fights. We have a great relationship, not just with boxing but outside the ring too. The last few fights I felt like we’ve grown together and have really meshed. He’s seeing what I’m seeing in the ring. We are on the same page. Being around him and these great fighters, it only levels you up and makes you even better. The last few years have been a great experience for me. I’m like a sponge taking it all in and learning from him on a daily basis It has been a blessing.

Several more bouts featuring local and international talent will be announced shortly. On fight night, doors open at 5:30 pm and the action starts at 6:00 pm. Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall is located at 2301 Boardwalk in Atlantic City. Phone: (609) 348-7000.
