DAVAO CITY -- Reigning Philippine Boxing Federation super flyweight champion Bienvenido "Sniper Ben" Ligas of Caloocan will make his first fight this year against Joan "Joan of Arc" Imperial of Muntinlupa on Feb. 7 in Ilocos Sur.
The 21-year old orthodox Ligas (11W-IL-ID, 8KO) won all three fights last year including the unanimous decision over JC Francisco of Bataan to win the vacant PBF super flyweight title last June 15 in Las Pinas.
Imperial (14W-8L-6D, 9KO), on the other hand, did not fight last year and his last fight was against undefeated Dave Apolinario of Gen. Santos City by a knockout in 2018.
The 33-year old Imperial promised to make a good comeback this year.
The fight, however, is only an 8-rounder non-title fight.
Meanwhile, former WBC Youth World super featherweight champion Argie "Bomba" Toquero (12W-5L-3D, 9KO) of Zamboanga del Norte will face Jimmy Borbon (7W-8L-4D, 4KO) of Capiz in the under card.
The boxing promoter is Cucuy Elorde of UKC Pro Boxing Edition.
