I'd done it right the first time-Floyd Jr.

PhilBoxing.com

THERE was nothing to correct, nothing to revise, nothing to explain, the first fight (against Manny Pacquiao) finished perfectly well for Floyd Mayweaher Jr.

Mayweather Jr. had been expected to issue a statement in a formal function, maybe a press conference similar to the one he had supposedly ditched at the Resorts World and Casino on Tuesday.

He had obviously found no need to sit down and explain to local media.

?I?d done it right the first time,? the retired unbeaten American boxing superstar told an alert female interviewer in a hotel lobby earlier on Tuesday.

Mayweather Jr. was referring to his first fight with Pacquiao in May 2015, a bout he won via unanimous decision in Las Vegas. Pacquiao claimed he had fought with an injured shoulder.

A video of the ambush interview was shown on CNN Philippines, with accompanying graphics, twice over around lunchtime on Tuesday.

There was nothing clear who arranged the ditched press conference, or if Mayweather was aware of it.

He went shopping and dropped by a popular dermatology clinic, and reportedly wound up his day with a dish of the popular chicken inasal at the Mall of Asia.

Reports on Wednesday said Mayweather had been heckled and called ?chicken? by an elderly female shopper.

He reportedly smiled back and gave her the thumbs-up sign.
Mayweather, on a world tour the past 24 months, left Wednesday with positive thoughts about the Philippines, reported Mei-Lin Lozada of Spin.ph.

?In the US, you have a lot of support but in the Philippines is nothing but love and so many positive people,? Mayweather bared during a private party hosted by Frontrow International president RS Francisco and Frontrow CEO Sam Versoza at the Corinthian Gardens in Quezon City.

The report said Mayweather, entranced with Boracay, has promised to be back.

He said he?s done with Pacquiao, having having won the first fight with in 2015, a victory described by American media as comprehensive.

Mayweather Jr. has remained formally retired, while Pacquiao has been seeking a next opponent for a fight expected to be scheduled in July.
