GLEN DONAIRE RETURNS TO ACTION ON DEC. 20
By Anthony 'Duljoman' Andales PhilBoxing.com Wed, 12 Dec 2007
Detroit -- Former NABA/NABO Flyweight Champion Glen Donaire (16-3-1 19KOs) will slug it out against Tirso Guttierez Morales (10-3-6KOs) of Viva Mexico!
They are scheduled to fight on Dec. 20 at Hard Rock Cafe, Las Vegas.
This means, after Nonito Donaire Jr.'s successful first defense, the Father/Trainer Papa Donaire is on a non-stop training program.
Glen Donaire's last fight was last year Oct. 6, 2006 against former flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan of Australia. He lost by a technical decision due to a broken jaw he suffered on round 3, but the fight still lasted through 6 rounds until Glen cannot take the pain anymore. That shows courage for a Donaire bloodline.
Hopefully Glen Donaire win this fight and bounced back to the world rankings.
"To become a world champion along side with my brother is a dream, and we're still focused to achieve such feat," a older Donaire said.
Glen ran in the mornings, then go to work and train in the evenings with his dad Nonito Sr., who was born in Talibon, Bohol.
This fight is scheduled for eight rounds and 109.5 lbs (+/- 0.5 lbs) weight limit. Currently, Glen is 116 lbs.
