Fighters for Pinoy Pride 44 Face Off, Promise Fireworks in Maasin, Southern Leyte By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Thu, 07 Jun 2018 MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte -- Fighters seeing action in the exciting ALA Promotion's Pinoy Pride 44 met and faced off during the press conference today (June 7) ahead of their crucial wars this coming Saturday evening at Maasin City Gym in Southern Leyte, Philippines. In the main event, Maasin native world-ranked Albert Pagara looked confident for his important clash against dangerous warrior Laryea Gabriel Odoi of Ghana for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight Title. "We know that Pagara is good. But he is not going to beat me. I am going to beat him. We have flown from Ghana in Africa to Maasin here in the Philippines and I did not come here all the way to lose. I came here to win," said Odoi who has won 14 of his fights by knockout. "Come to see the show." In the co-main feature, hard-punching Jeo Santisima, looking taller than his Thai opponent Likit Chante, appeared ready to trade leather in their 12-rounder for the vacant WBO Oriental Super Bantamweight belt. Santisima has won thirteen of his seventeen fights by stoppage, most of them in less than three rounds. In another clash that might end by knock out, Jason Pagara - needing to get back into the winning column - seemed in good shape for his war against veteran Indonesian Wellem Reyk. "I did not come here to talk," said the Indonesian today. "I came here to fight."
