VILORIA SAYS HE?S EYEING DONAIRE
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Tue, 06 Nov 2007

Former WBC light flyweight champion Brian ?Hawaiian Punch? Viloria says he is eyeing a title fight with IBF/IBO flyweight champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire sometime in the future.
In an interview over 15rounds.com, Viloria said he has a comeback fight scheduled this December but his handlers are still looking for a suitable opponent. Viloria said he?d like to ?have a couple more fights to get the ring rust off? and would then like to fight Donaire for the world title.
Viloria said he was ?glad that he (Donaire) was doing really great? even as he mentioned that he had beaten both Nonito and elder brother Glenn Donaire in the US Olympic boxing trials prior to the 2000 Sydney Olympics and that since both he and Donaire are world-ranked Viloria said ?everybody wants that meeting and a lot of people want to see that happen.?
However, the Donaire brothers have both claimed in the past that they were victims of bad decisions even as Nonito indicated in the past that he would want to settle a score with Viloria.
The US Olympian who spent most of his life in Hawaii and earned the nickname ?Hawaiian Punch? said he expects to have ?a couple more fights? and would also like to have fights happen against Vic Darchinyan the IBO super flyweight champion and former flyweight champion Jorge Arce.
Viloria won the WBC light flyweight title on September 10, 2005 with a first round knockout over Eric Ortiz and then retained the crown with a unanimous decision over former champion Jose Antonio Aguirre on February18, 2006 before losing the title to Omar Nino on August 10 by a unanimous decision and then figuring in a no contest when Nino retained the title on a draw but tested positive for a banned substance in a post fight drug test. Viloria then battled Edgar Sosa for the vacant title and once again lost a twelve round majority decision on April 14, this year.
