LOMA WINS BY TKO AS RIGO REFUSES TO COME OUT IN THE 7TH ROUND
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sun, 10 Dec 2017

Vasyl Lomachenko's symphonic footwork was in full display Saturday night at Theather at Madison Square Garden as he danced to throw a jab, double jab, uppercuts and quickly encircle the confused Guillermo Rigondeaux who interrupted Lomanchencko's beautiful music by his ugly clinching.
Peppered by Lomachenko's punches, Rigondeaux, who probably only landed a number of punches that you can count on your ten fingers, refused to come out in the 7th round saying that he injured his left hand. Lomachenko thus retained his WBO world super featherweight title and settled the question of who is the best fighter between two combantants who each had won two gold Olympic medals.
Lomachenko (C) retains his WBO belt as he is flanked by WBO president Francisco Valcarcel (R) and Referee Steve Willis.
Rigondeaux, who was deducted a point by the referee in the sixth round for excessive holding, suffered his first defeat in 18 outings while Lomachenko (10-1-0, 8KOs) will continue to search for a worthy foe.
Interviewed after the fight, Lomachenko said that his win against Rigondeaux "was not a big win for me" noting that Rigondeaux was much smaller than himself.
Rigondeaux who previously said he was not impressed by Lomachenko's skills, praised Lomachenko after the fight as "a very technical fighter, very quick and very explosive."
