KOVALEV STOPS SHABRANSKYY IN SECOND ROUND

Segey Kovalev of Russia impresses with a second round TKO stoppage over Vyacheslav Shabranskyy of Ukraine in the main event dubbed as 'The Next Chapter' Saturday night at the Madison Square Garden in New York. Kovalev thus recaptured the WBO world light heavyweight title he held for a long time that was later lost to pound for pound great Andre Ward.
Kovalev quotes after the fight:
"It's my goal to be best in the decision - last time I was stopped was a decision by the referee. Here tonight was great boxing for me and I love boxing and I want to make great fights."
"I'm happy that the belts have different owners and it makes everything interesting and we can make better fights. We have a bunch of belt holes and we can now find out who is the best."
"I am ready for any champion - because this is very good for boxing."
