The exposition was opened a month ago by former California Assemblyman Ray Haynes, Philippine columnist, Ramon ?Mon? Tulfo and Bernie Targa-Ganon, president of Philippine Institute of Language, Arts and Culture (PILAC)

Otamias winning photo depicts the victorious Filipino Boxing legend, Manny Pacquiao with his arms in victory after beating Mexican-American Jesse Vargas at a fight billed as ?The Legend/The Champ? a boxing match for the WBO welterweight championship. The event took place on November 5, 2016 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.?Pacquiao?won the?fight?by unanimous decision and took the WBO welterweight title.

Judging for the photo contest was based on the following:

Relevance/importance to the Filipino American community
Composition, display of photographic skills
Impact on viewers
Less use or absence of technological enhancement

Judges included among others, Master photographer Dexter Grey, a multi-awardee International photographer from China, Mr. Cao Yong, Filipino professional photographer Romeo Balboa Cesar Angeles, the Public Information Officer of the Philippine Consulate and Fernandico Gonong, President of the Filipino American Community of Los Angeles

For his great win, Otamias was awarded a nice glass plaque and fat check.

?This win is not only about me,? Otamias stated to this writer soon after he received his award. ?It is also about our Philboxing US-based photography team and the PhilBoxing management who trusted my work and used it for many boxing stories they put up,? he added.
