Demecillo, Pantilgan Score Exciting Wins in Bohol

PhilBoxing.com

Pantilgan wins.
Bohol fight fans in Guildulman enjoyed an exciting seven-fight evening of boxing with Cebuano bantamweight Carlo Demecillo (7-4, 1 KO) of the Big Yellow Boxing Stable winning a clear 8-round unanimous decision over tough Boholano fighter Jason Tinampay (8-6-1, 7 KO's) Friday night (Sep 8) at the full-house packed Guindulman Municipal Gym in the Paradise Island Province of Bohol.

Carlo Demecillo, who scaled-in at 119 lbs (three pounds bellow the contracted 122 lbs), was in command of the actions, getting the nod in the scorecards of all three ringside judges; and now, after two shocking loses in Japan, Demecillo is successfully back into the winning column.

Carlo Demecillo Scores Unanimous Decision Win over Jason Tinampay in Friday Sep 8 in Guindulman.

In the co-main event, hard-striking Bukidnon flyweight Marjun Pantilgan (15-5, 12 KO's) of Malaybalay City battered and overpowered brave Delfin de Asis (6-4, 4 KO's) of Valencia City, Bukidnon. The TKO end came during the rough action of round 6 when Pantilgan unleashed a vicious assault on De Asis, the boxer with last name of Saint. There were no cuts, but De Asis ended the combat with an hematoma under his right eye.

Pantilgan and Demecillo are trained by experienced coach Christopher "Pingping" Tepora of Cebu's Big Yellow Boxing Stable.

MORE RESULTS FROM GANDUILMAN, BOHOL

Heavy-handed Zamboangue?o lightweight Raymond Yanong (8-2-1, 7 KO's) scored another knock out win in his record by ravaging 23-year-old local favorite Antonio "Dodz" Sismundo. Antonio, the younger brother of 140-pounder Ricky Sismundo, was brave and game, but the stronger more poisonous and more accurate Raymond Yanong was by far the better man last night.

In addition, undefeated minimumweight Roldan Sasan (4-0, 2 KO) of Carmen, Bohol, kept his unblemished record intact by ravaging in rough fashion underdog southpaw Frankie Batuon (2-3, 0 KOs) of Koronadal, Cotabato del Sur.

In a super flyweight battle, local Guindulman fighter Johnriel Castino (1-0, 1 KO) stepped for the very first time into the war-zone to score a knock out win over Coronadal's John Paul Ibones (0-2) . Excellent first victory for the well-focused Johnriel Castino in front of his family and friends as he started in perfect way his pro boxing career.

Moreover, in battle of two really veteran boxers, Robert Awitin (8-26-2, 8 KO's) of Anda in Eastern Bohol, was merciless in prescribing a hurtful knock out to the already softened journeyman Rowel Garcia (7-24-3, 1 KO) of Coronadal, South Cotabato.

Noteworthy, since September of 2015, Rowel Garcia, has continuously been severely stopped either by KO or by TKO in every single combat that he has been in.

Furthermore, undefeated Flyweight Dino Rafaeles (4-0, 1 KO) of Pampanga escaped with a narrow split decision win over spirited rookie Rolly Dorong of Mandaue City; and many fans would love to see a rematch. The bout was a 4-rounder.

Friday's card in the historic Municipality of Guindulman in Eastern Bohol, which was billed as "Sinukliay Ug Kumo Sa Guindulman," was a production of Jimdomar Boxing Promotions of Edgar L. Ricafort with Ms. Josephine Y. Tupos as matchmaker.

"Sinukliay Ug Kumo Sa Guindulman" was possible thanks to the cooperation of Guindulman Mayor Hon. Albino Balo of the PDP-Laban, the kind assistance of boxing organizer Mr. Edgar Olaivar and the main sponsorship of The Guardian International Inc., Guindulman Chapter.
