The Defenders: Paras, Saludar, Paradero Risk World-Ranks Tonight (Aug 30) in CDO By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Wed, 30 Aug 2017 World-ranked Filipino boxers Vince Paras, Robert Paradero and Vic Saludar have the important mission to defend their coveted world-rankings in the exciting 7-fight boxing card scheduled for tonight Wednesday August 30 at Barangay Bulua Covered Court in the City of Golden Friendship, Cagayan de Oro. Headlining the event, popular hard-hitting WBO # 12 Jr. Flyweight Vince Paras (R) of General Santos City will risk it all in a 10-rounder fists war against tough competitor Bonjun Loperez (10-5-1, 5 KO's) of Davao City. And the question is: will the talented 18 year-old Paras (11-0, 9 KO's) be successful defending his world rating... or will the confident Bojun Loperez shock the younger Paras to score the most important win of his career? You have to be there to find out. Then, in the intense co-main event, IBF # 10/WBO # 4 Minimumweight Victor "Vic" Saludar (14-3, 9 KO's) of Polomolok, Cotabato del Sur, will battle 21-year-old Iligan City warrior Mike Kinaadman (6-2-2, 4 KO's) in a 10-round fast-paced action rumble. Vic Saludar comes from losing his last fight, while Kinaadman, 21, comes from winning! Needless to say that if Vic Saludar, 26, suffers another defeat, he'd automaticaly delete himself of the world-ranking picture. So what will happen? Moreover, in another electric risk, WBO # 3 Minimumweight Robert "Inggo" Paradero (14-0, 9 KO's) will face fellow Bukidnon-native 25-year-old Charles Ca?edo (8-4, 4 KO's) in a 10-chapter skirmish. Paradero, 21, is a rough puncher, not willing to surrender his unbeaten record. He is also the reigning WBO Asia Pacific 105-pounder Youth Titlist. Let's find out how the promising Paradero will perform tonight. MORE FIGHTS Also inserted in tonight's card is Froilan "The Sniper" Saludar (25-2-1, 16 KO's), the experienced elder brother of Vic, who is willing to trade blows tonight with 25-year-old John Rey Lauza (13-14-4, 6 KO's) of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. The duel is a 10-rounder war in the 115-pound division. Next is the international fight of the evening, featuring Japanese super flyweight Shota Kawaguchi (20-8-1, 8 KO's) of Osaka battling heavy underdog Raymond Dayham (8-10-1, 7 KO's). However, the 24-year-old Dayham has lost by way of knock out in last four combats. Fans still stand with the Pinoy Raymond. But the work in hand is so tough. Furthermore, Mark Anthony Geraldo (34-7-3, 15 KO's) of Bukidnon and Jetly Purisima (21-23-4, 6 KO's) are set to collide in a 10-rounder fight, which most likely will not make to the bell. Why? Because Jetly Purisima, 29, has been severely stopped in each of his last 5 fights since June of last year. Almost a mission impossible for the much roughnedd Jetly Purisima. The first bout of the high-voltage evening of boxing will be a clash of two young unbeaten heavy-handed newcomers to boxing: Garen Diagan (3-0, 2 KO's) squaring off 20-year-old Marco John Rementizo (2-0, 2 KO's). Tonight's boxing card (Aug 30) in Cagayan de Oro will take place at Barangay Bulua Covered Court in Cagayan de Oro. The first bout starts at 6 PM and tickets are available at J Square Bazaar.
