Melindo-Budler Fight Preview; Melindo's Pinoy Pride 42 Public Work Out Saturday at SM City Cebu

PhilBoxing.com

CEBU CITY, Philippines - Promotion for the much awaited September 16 Pinoy Pride 42 "Clash for Glory," featuring the world title defense of IBF Jr. Flyweight World Champion Milan Melindo heats up with Melindo hosting a public work out tomorrow Saturday August 12 at SM Cebu at 5 PM.

The public work out is free to the public and boxing fans will have the cool chance of seeing world champion Melindo up-close-and-personal while he performs his tough training routines as directed by his experienced ALA coaches.

In addition, its the perfect opportunity for fans to assess how good Melindo (36-2, 13 KO's) looks ahead of his very important September 16 world title defense.

Plus, the 29 year-old Melindo - born in the City of Golden Friendship Cagayan de Oro - would love to see many of his friends and loyal fans at SM City this Saturday, as he intensifies his preparation for the very tough coming battle.

THE BATTLE: MELINDO VS BUDLER

That battle is against none other than the reigning IBO Jr. Flyweight World Champion Hekkie Budler (31-2, 10 KO's) of South Africa. The "Clash for Glory" will take center stage in about 4 weeks time at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Lahug.

Milan's opponent, Budler, also 29 year-of-age, is an experienced, slick, fast fighter, a 2-division world champion, certainly a confusing boxer to deal with on top of the ring.

Budler is not a knock out puncher, but he is quick with his hands and feet. He thinks and moves good around the canvas. Same as Melindo, Budler has only two defeats in his impressive pro record and neither men has ever been knocked out.

Importantly, the white South African Budler knows how to adjust in the ring. That is because of his years of experience in world titles fights, and, very vital in a 12-rounder clash: Budler knows how to win close rounds.

That's the reason why Ring Magazine and Boxrec have both Melindo and Budler in their list of top-10 Jr. Flyweight boxers in the world. This, indeed, is a fight of really of high competition among two world champions and seasoned 108-lbs world-class fighters in the prime of their boxing careers.

It's because of the above factors that "El Met?dico" Melindo needs to prepare at 100% as Hekkie Budler might be faster and more cunning than Akira Yaegashi, the tough Japanese fighter whom Melindo rocked to claim the IBF world red-and-gold belt.

Worth nothing is the fact that Hekkie Budler has been fighting and mostly winning at a world-championship level for over 4 years. No doubt, ALA Promotions has picked a really difficult opponent for Milan Melindo and this clear fact makes the September 16 "Clash for Glory" showdown so much more attractive.

This is why Milan Melindo will need lighting speed to deal with Hekkie Budler, as well as stormy power in his blows.

Therefore, let's have a look on Saturday's public work and figure out how is Milan Melindo doing.

Melindo's public work out is tomorrow Saturday August 12 at SM City Cebu @ 5 PM.
