Dulay and Arboleda Make Weight

PhilBoxing.com

Today, at the office of Oscar de la Hoya?s Golden Boy Promotions, Filipino super featherweight Recky Dulay (9-2-0, 6KO) of Catarman, Northern Samar and his undefeated opponent from Curundu, Panama, Jaime Arboleda (10-0-0, 8KO) both made weight.

Dulay, who is making a come-back fight in the US, stepped on the scale and registered a sizzling 130 pound, while his opponent the WBA Fedelatin super featherweight champion, Jaime Arboleda, came in at 129.6 pounds.

Dulay is fighting for the second time in the US. In his first US fight that was held at Las Vegas last September 2015, Dulay did not do too well owing to his problems with his team at that time. He lost to Gervonta Davis.

This time however, Dulay promises to come to the fight with a clear mind and total focus to the fight. ?I know my opponent is a Latin champion and taller than myself. But, I have confidence in my training with my new coach. He taught me well and gave me confidence to win. I will do my best not to disappoint him and my family and fans? stated Dulay after the weigh-in.

Dulay recently found a new handler, Rey Rodis, a Hollywood producer who demonstrated to him that he is really after his welfare. This he proved by finding this fight for Dulay, a fight that is promoted by no less than the Golden Boy Promotions.

And, he found a new trainer, former WBC Lightweight champion, Rodel Mayol of Mandaue, Cebu who now makes LA his home and the Wildcard Gym his home gym.

The Dulay-Arboleda fight will be the first fight from three super featherweight fights of the 6 fight card that will be broadcast live from the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Headlining the fight event is Roger Gutierrez of Venezuela vs. Rene Alvarado of Nicaragua.

Gutierrez vs. Alvarado?is an eight-round super featherweight fight presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Tecate "Born BOLD", Casa Mexico Tequila, and Adriana's Insurance.
