PACMAN URGES SENATE EMPLOYEES: STAY FIT & HEALTHY TO ENHANCE YOUR PRODUCTIVITY

PhilBoxing.com

PASAY CITY ? Senator Emmanuel D. Pacquiao has challenged all Senate employees to exercise regularly to stay fit and healthy.

Senator Pacquiao claimed physical health and fitness enhances productivity.

?Employees who keep themselves fit and healthy are happier and more productive. And to achieve this, they should exercise regularly,? Senator Pacquiao said.

Senator Pacquiao launched late last week a weight loss challenge to promote health and fitness among Senate employees.

The biggest loser will take home a whopping US$10,000 cash prize.

Second place will get US$5,000 cash reward; third place ? US$3,000; fourth place ? US$2,000; 5th to 10th place ? US$1,000 and 11th to 18th place ? US$500.

The weight loss challenge was previously exclusive to the members of Team Pacquiao to inspire and encourage them to give utmost value on health and fitness.

The eight-division world boxing champ is staging the weight loss challenge everytime he has a scheduled boxing match.

This time, however, the contest was no longer confined to the members of Team Pacquiao.

?I want the Senate employees to become health conscious. So, I decided to open the contest to all of them,? the Senator from Mindanao said.

Pacquiao, the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) Welterweight champion, said this is not about money.

?The cash reward is just secondary. This is about health and fitness, discipline and determination,? the Filipino boxing hero said.

As of Thursday last week, 114 Senate employees had shown up during the opening weigh-in. Final weigh-in was tentatively set on July 5.

Stephanny Domingo, Senator Pacquiao?s appointment secretary, bared that 144 Senate employees their intention to join in the weight loss challenge.

?Other Senate employees failed to show up during the opening weigh-in last Thursday afternoon due to prior commitments. But I expect them to troop to our office on Monday afternoon for the weigh-in,? Domingo said.

The boxer-senator will be making his first title defense of his WBO Welterweight crown on July 2 in Suncorp Stadium, in Brisbane, Australia, against an undefeated Australian pug, Jeff Horn.
