SALVANA CAPTURES PBF FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE PhilBoxing.com Tue, 14 Mar 2017 GENERAL Santos City --- Hardhitting Markquil Salvana of Sanman Boxing Gym used his solid body punches in stopping JP Macadumpis in just 51 seconds of the second round to capture the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) featherweight title last Sunday at the T?boli Municipal Gym in T?boli, South Cotabato. Salvana immediately went to work by landing solid body blows on Macadumpis in the opening round. Macadumpis survived the punishment but not in the second round. Referee Rodel Garde finally stopped the fight after seeing Macadumpis continued to be hurt by Salvana?s solid combinations without even trying to defend himself. The Salvana-Macadumpis 10-rounder was the main supporting bout of the ?T?boli Thunder 2? presentation of the Sanman Promotion and the municipal government of T?boli in celebration of the 19th Seslong Festival and 43rd T?boli Founding Anniversary. ?Salamat sa Diyos dahil hindi nya ako pinabayaan sa laban ko,? said Salvana. He also thanked his managers and bosses from Sanman Boxing Gym. ?Salamat din sa mga taong todo suporta sa akin kaya ako nag tagumpay ng dahil sa walang sawa nyong pag suporta sa akin at nagpapasalamat ako ng taos pusong pasasalamat sa mga bossing namin salamat sa inyo,? said Salvana. The 20-year old Salvana improved his record to 12 wins and 5 knockouts with 3 losses while Macadumpis suffered his 9th loss with 11 wins and 1 draw. It Salvana?s first win since losing by a unanimous decision to Japanese Takuya Uehara in their battle for the vacant WBC Youth World featherweight title last December 18 in Osaka, Japan. All three Japanese judges scored in favour of their fellow countryman - Nobuyuki Kitamura (97-92), Nobuto Ikehara (95-93) and Takeo Harada (95-93). Meanwhile, Lony Cadayday of Golingan Stable landed more punches to beat Jeny Boy Boca, also of Sanman via a unanimous decision in their 6-rounder bout.  |
