NBA -- Embiid shows stuff that made him a prized pick

CHICAGO -- When Joel Embiid was chosen as the No.3 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, so much was expected from the then 20-year old gem from the University of Kansas.
Unfortunately for the Philadelphia 76ers, the team that drafted him, Embiid had foot problems that robbed the 7-foot, 250-pound center of the opportunity to showcase his skills.
But after two full seasons of waiting, Embiid finally made his official NBA debut a few days ago, starting for the 76ers and helping them narrowly beat the Boston Celtics, 92-89.
He played for 13 minutes and didn't exactly dominate but he showed enough skill and talent to produce 6 points, 4 rebounds and two blocks. He proved that he can be a pillar on both ends of the floor.
If his health holds up, Embiid will see more action during the course of the 2016-17 season, just another reason that makes the NBA must-watch TV.
