Philboxing.com has just been credentialed to cover the mammoth August 11 'World Cup' of Boxing at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California.
Alex Sigua of the Maloof Sports & Entertainment, which operates the Arco Arena, has given out today the media credentials for Philboxing.com's Dong Secuya and Salven Lagumbay, who are both covering the fights also for local and national papers.
US-based Ed De la Vega and Rolando Hiso are also covering the event for Philboxing.com and Pacland, while the Inquirer's Recah Trinidad is also set to join the group.
The World Cup, the biggest boxing event that will feature two countries in their search for boxing supremacy, is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and distributed by HBO Championship Boxing.
It will be shown live in the Philippines by RPN-9 starting at 10AM on August 12.
Bannering the crack Philippine team is the undefeated ALA Boy Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista, the team captain, who will challenge WBO superbantam king Daniel Ponce De Leon.
In the co-feature, good-as-new Gerry Penalosa will challenge WBO bantam ruler Jhonny Gonzales in a highly-anticipated 12-rounder.

AJ Banal, the undefeated phenom, takes on ex-WBC champ Eric Ortiz, while Diosdado Gabi battles Juan Angel Beranza both in 8-round dukeouts.
RP bantam champ Michael 'Bruce Lee' Domingo, meanwhile, will wage war against the undefeated Miguel Roman also for eight.
