NBA -- Sixers eclipse Suns in rare road win
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Sun, 27 Dec 2015

CHICAGO -- The last time the Philadelphia 76ers won on the road was March 29 this year, a brutal stretch the covers 23 games including 18 straight this season.
But like all streaks, good or bad, this too came to pass.
Isaiah Canaan went 6-of-12 from the field and 4-of-8 from long distance to finish with 22 points and lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 111-104 road triumph over the reeling Phoenix Suns on Saturday night at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.
Nik Stauskas drilled three 3s and tallied 17 points while Carl Landry added 16 markers. Nerlens Noel pitched in a solid 14 points and 11 boards as the cellar-dwelling Sixers improved to 2-30.
Philadelphia shot 48 percent from the field (38 of 79) and benefited from a strong start in which they led 29-15 after one quarter of play. The Sixers, who won the rebounding battle, 48-41, stretched their advantage to 97-81 at the 7:01 mark of the fourth period.
The Suns chopped the deficit to 108-102 time down to 1:27, but they couldn't come any closer and dropped their fourth straight contest.
"Obviously, it's probably a low point for us," Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek told the Arizona Republic. "Pretty embarassing, point blank, period," added Suns forward P.J. Tucker.
Brandon Knight led the Suns with 21 points while Devin Booker had 19 and Jon Leuer added 14. But Phoenix struggled mightily, converting just 34 of 88 shots for a tepid 38.6 percent clip.
Saturday night's debacle in front of 17,548 home fans was the Suns' seventh loss in 10 games. They fell to 12-20 in the overall standings, two games behind for a potential playoffs berth in the Western Conference.
