USC WARRIORS GRAB PIVOTAL GAME 3; ONE WIN AWAY FROM CESAFI TITLE By Michael Kenji Izumi PhilBoxing.com Fri, 16 Oct 2015 CEBU CITY: The US Warriors grabbed the pivotal Game 3 in their best-of five championship series against the UV Green Lancers 87-76 and moved one game away from wrapping up the CESAFI basketball championships before a huge crowd at the Cebu Coliseum on Thursday evening. In a major turnaround from their Game 2 loss, a fully motivated Warriors sparked a barrage of three-pointers in the opening quarter and ended with a booming triple by Victor Rabat to end the quarter uop by eightn points, 22-14. The second quarter was an all-Manzo show as he exploded for 19 points out of a total, of 21 points in the first half as the Warriors failed to solve the offensive juggernaut enabling the Green Lancers to grab a four point lead at the half, 42-38. However, in the second half the USC defense finally clamped down on Manzo and charged back with a 12-2 run to lead 50-44 midway through the third quarter en route to a 75-58 lead with 4:46 left in the final quarter and refused to let the Lancers get back into the contest. USC?s Cameroonian import Shooster Olago win ?Best Player of the Game? honors from the VIVA Sports TV panel of Rico Navarro and Sandi Grumo with a game high 32 points and 17 rebounds behind 9 of 15 shooting from the field and 14 of 16 from the free throw line. Ian Tagapan played his usual solid game to finish with 20 points, 3 boards and 2 assists while Charles Pepito bounced back from his lackluster Game 2 performance with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Manzo was UV?s high point man with 25 points but was limited to just 4 points in the second half. Arvie Cabanero was the only other Green Lancer in double figures with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
