PACQUIAO RECEIVES $2.5M DONATION FROM AJF FOUNDATION IN GENSAN By Aquiles Z. Zonio PhilBoxing.com Fri, 25 Sep 2015 GENERAL SANTOS CITY ? Another Joy Foundation (AJF) founder Alden Crowley personally delivered $2.5 million (P119.6 million) worth of donations to world eight-division boxing champion and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao in a simple turn-over ceremony held at the General Santos City Aiport on Thursday afternoon. The donations included assorted books and toys for children, seedlings and medical supplies transported from Manila to Gensan by a private plane owned by Ilocos Sur governor Luis ?Chavit? Singson. Pacquiao and his wife, Sarangani vice governor Jinkee, personally went to the Gensan airport to receive the donations. Crowley flew all the way from Las Vegas, Nevada to personally turn over the goods to Pacquiao. The Pacquiao couple endorsed the goods to Emmanuel & Jinkee Heart?s Foundation (EJHF) for distribution to seven municipalities, including Gensan. EJHF, a not-for-profit organization, was founded and duly registered at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last year. The foundation, headed by Romeo Reyes, Sr., is now handling the Pacquiao couple?s livelihood, medical and educational assistance to poor residents of Sarangani and Gensan. ?My foundation will take charge of the distribution to seven different towns in Sarangani and Gensan. This is just the beginning. More donations will be coming from our partner foundation based in the US,? Pacquiao bared. The Pinoy boxing legend thanked Crowley and his foundation for the donations, adding that ?These mean so much for the children in Sarangani and Gensan.? The medical supplies will also help address the problem on lack of medicine in public hospitals in two adjacent local government units. Crowley, in his speech, revealed that more donations from his foundation will take place every four months. ?We will keep on collecting donations to help combat poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy in the Philippines. This was embodied in the agreement we signed shortly after Cong. Pacquiao?s fight with Floyd Mayweather last May 2,? Crowley said. Pacquiao and Crowley signed a partnership agreement last May to work together to provide joy and hope, books and other school supplies to children in need, as well as, medical assistance to residents of Sarangani and Gensan. The signing took place at Pacman?s Los Angeles residence a few days after his May 2 mega-buck fight. Singson, Pacquiao?s wedding godfather, facilitated the meeting between him and Crowley. They first met in April at Pacquiao?s LA residence while the Filipino ring hero was holding his training camp at Los Angeles in preparation for the Mayweather fight. AJF is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to provide global joy, school books, school supplies, medical aid, disaster relief and community development programs in the U.S. and around the world. /By Aquiles Z.
