TENTH & TOUGHEST - IRON WILL READY FOR OCT 31

PhilBoxing.com

Will Young to celebrate his 10th local bout with his biggest challenge.

TOOWOOMBA'S IRON WILL YOUNG will line up for his tenth bout at Rumours International on the Smithy & TGW Bring the Big Fights 11 card on October 31.

His tenth bout in his home town is likely to be his toughest and potentially most rewarding.

"We're chasing a regional title shot for Iron Will," Manager Brendon Smith said.

"Will has earned the opportunity and what better place to do it than in his own backyard.

"Will has been very impressive in his last two bouts and now we want to take another step up.

"He lost a split decision against Luke Jackson - who many tout as a future World Champion, and many who were at Rumours that night believe Will won the fight.

"Then he was very impressive against China's Wang Xinghua on our last show.

"The fight against Xinghua was a big step up for Will and he handled it well and I'm not surprised after the bout he said that it was the hardest fight of his career.

"Now I'm in negotiations for Will to challenge for a regional belt.

"If not it will likely be another international fight for Iron Will.

Will Young is excited about the opportunity.

"Thanks to Brendon Smith for his unwavering support, it means a lot to me.

"I'm excited with the possibility I will get a shot at a regional belt.

"Regardless of who it is or what it's for - I'll give it my best.

"Whoever or what ever opportunity Brendon provides for me - I'll be ready to take it with both hands.

"For now it's all about my preparation and I'll work hard in the gym with Brendon and Steven Spark," Young said.

The announcement is great news for Toowoomba fight fans, Young has one of the largest supporter bases in the Garden City.

He's had 9 career bouts and all 9 have been here on the Smithy Brings the Big fights cards.

He's quickly becoming Toowoomba's favourite son.

"The only one I missed was when Jen was due with our second child Emily.

"Otherwise I probably would've been on all of the cards.

"My debut on the original Smithy Brings the Big fights card was in March 2012.

"A lot has happened since then.

"Why would I want to fight anywhere else.

"I love fighting in front of Toowoomba, I love Toowoomba, as a community we are passionate people and when I get into the ring I'm all about passion, heart and an iron will to win," Young said.

"It's the support of so many people, family, friends and fans that pushes me to fight the way I do.

"I want to give those fans the kind of fights they want to see.

"October 31 will be no different, whoever is in the opposite corner better be ready because as always I'll put it all on the line.
