JEFF FENECH TO HONOUR THE LIFE OF BRAYD SMITH
Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech will be a part of a speical tribute to Brayd Smith on June 27.

THREE TIME WORLD CHAMPION & THE MAN NAMED THE WBC'S GREATEST FEATHERWEIGHT OF THE PAST 30 YEARS Jeff Fenech will travel to Toowoomba on June 27 to be a part of TGW & Smithy Bring the Big Fight's 10.

A large part of this very special show will be a final tribute to the late Braydon Smith. Promoter Brendon Smith today announced there will be a parade of champions to mark the occasion.

The first confirmed champion - the legendary Jeff Fenech.

"They don't come much bigger than Jeff Fenech when it comes to boxing in this country.

"This event is very special to myself, my family and all of Brayd's friends and supporters.

"I can't say thank you enough to Jeff Fenech, when he heard about it his response was unbelievable.

"He confirmed straight away and I can't put into words how much that means to my family.

"Brayd was a featherweight, Jeff was a featherweight.

"Brayd was the WBC Youth Featherweight champ, Jeff was recently named the WBC's greatest featherweight champion of the past thirty years.

"To have Jeff in Toowoomba for this special event is a big thing for the city."

"Brayd always looked up to Jeff Fenech," Brendon Smith said.

"Brayd was the WBC Youth World Champion and he hoped to follow in the footsteps of Jeff and win the WBC open title.

"It's great that Jeff wants to be in Toowoomba to honour the life of Brayd.

"Jeff is the first big name we have secured for the night, but he won't be the last.

"We will have further big announcements to come."

June 27 is set to be a very special night.

Brayd Smith's life will be honoured and remembered. As well as the parade of champions there will be a final 10 bells, a final ring announce and video tribute.

A fundraiser will be held on the night with proceeds to go towards the 'TGW Brayd Smith campaign to bring a neurosurgeon to Toowoomba'.

"Brayd had some many special memories at Rumours International, so it's the perfect place to host a final farewell, Brendon Smith said.

"We want to see a sea of orange in the crowd - we will encourage everyone to wear Brayd's colours.

"We are also hoping for one night only we can change the blue corner to the orange corner.

"Brayd was a special person so he deserves a special night for TGW & Smithy bring the big fight's 10.

"We have a great card lined up.

"IBO World Champion Jack Asis, WBA Oceania champion Kris George, former Australian champion Will Young are just three of the big names who will be involved in International bouts.

"Then we have some great domestic showdowns, Herman Ene-Purcell vs Joel Clifton for the Qld title, Darren Askew takes on undefeated Nerang prospect Matt Casboult and in the battle of the Darling Downs Sammy Williams and Kyle Teer go head to head.

"This card will also feature Brent Rice, Jamie Hilt and Olaf Olsen.

"Jeff Fenech will be treated to a night of amazing fights, that's for sure."
