ROMAN GONZALEZ HOT ON TRAIL FOR BOXING'S ALL-TIME BEST RECORD

PhilBoxing.com

Inglewood, CA:- Saturday night at the Forum, a kid from Nicaragua came crashing in the top tier of the boxing world via his debut on premier cable HBO. Not that he wasn?t known before. For crying out loud, the kid has an unblemished record of 42-0 with 36 KO before he climbed the ring and walk off it in a two short and painful rounds for his opponent along the way improving to 43-0-0, 37KO.

Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez though fairly well recognized in the boxing world, particularly to the Latino boxing fans and those that follow the ?lighter weight? division fighters, with his clinical demolition of former world champion Edgar Sosa of Mexico, can now solidify his claim on his well-deserved position in the mythical pound4pound list of who is who in boxing.

Gonzalez it seems came to the fight ready to show that he deserves all the accolades he can get. He knew a great performance on his HBO debut will translate to bigger and better fights and world wide exposure. Thus, he never gave Sosa even the smallest breathing room. He was all over the former Mexican world champ from the first bell never giving Sosa a chance to set up and put up a decent fight.

Gonzalez displaying magnificent footwork and lightning speed hands rained combinations on the poor former champion, putting him on the canvas three times. Following the WBC rules, Referee Raul Caiz Sr did not even bother to count after the third knockdown. He simply called off the fight. Sosa is done and everyone knows it.

With his victory, Gonzalez is on tract to catch up the big ring dancer and king of hype, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In fact, basing it on Floyd?s record when he was 43 and 0, Gonzalez? record is far better. He has 37 knockouts already and Floyd, even with his 48-0-0, has only 26 KO?s, a sure fire evidence that he is a runner and not a fighter.

If Gonzalez keeps his win rate going, he can totally eclipse the record of the braggart from Grand Rapids, Michigan in less than five years.

And may even pass that of the great Rocky Marciano.

Oh, there is another chap lurking right behind him. Gennady Golovkin at 33-0-0, 31 KO.
