NBA -- Bulls rout Bucks, set date with Cavs

PhilBoxing.com

MILWAUKEE -- The Bmo Harris Bradley Center buzzed with electricity prior to Game 6 of the Bucks versus Bulls showdown on Thursday night.

A sellout crowd of 18,717 packed the arena, and made it known it was "their house". Chants of " Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Milwaukee" could be heard from outside the stadium. Unfortunately, the Milwaukee Bucks didn't get the memo. The ball went in the air for the tip , and it was all Chicago from there.

The Bulls came out firing on all cylinders. They shot a blistering 56 percen from the field and 57.1 percent from behind the arc. They were simply. on fire.

After a forgettable Game 5, Mike Dunleavy Jr bounced back in a huge way. Not only putting the ball in the basket, but what it seemed like to be, getting under the young bucks skin as well. The sharp shooting veteran guard poured in 8 points in the first quarter including going 2-3 from distance.

Pau Gasol showed Bulls fans the stuff they;d expected from him.gave us what we have all been expecting. Dominance. The big man set the tone early going 6-7 from the field and being in all the right places, snatching 5 boards. He made his presence felt in the paint. Gasol finished the game with 19 points and 8 rebounds going 8 for 12 from the field for the game.

"They had some momentum in the series, won a couple in a row," Dunleavy told reporters after the game. " We came out on their court and put it on them. That's frustrating, and I understand that." MDJ led all Bulls scoring 20 points on 9-13 shooting and 6-6 from the charity stripe. Joakim Noah provided a solid double double with 11 points and 10 boards.

Things got chippy early as it appeared Dunleavy caught Bucks point guard Michael Carter-Williams with a shot to the mouth. The Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo, was ejected at the 1:34 mark in the second quarter. After officials reviewed a play that sent Dunleavy to the ground, they determined it to be a flagrant 2 foul on Antetokounmpo. The play stemmed from an earlier shot to the face that Dunleavy sent to giannis. After the game coach Kidd was asked about Giannis and his play on MDJ and said it was a learning experience for the young guys. " It wasn?t very smart" said coach Kidd.

It was evident the Bucks youth and playoff experience got the best of them. OJ Mayo and MCW were given technical fouls in the game. The Bulls led the Bucks 65-33 at the half, and it was all but over for Milwaukee. The same energy and fire they shown the previous 5 games just wasn?t there tonight, as they often looked one step to slow, or moving way to fast.

You know it?s a bad day at the office when no player scored in double figures for the Bucks. Zaza Pachulia, yes... Zaza Pachulia led all Bucks in scoring with 8 points. The Bucks shot 32.9% from the field for the game, and 21.1% from deep. The Bulls defense was swarming to the ball , something we hadn't seen in the series before game 6. "Our pressure on the ball was great" said Dunleavy. The Bulls forced the Bucks to commit 18 turnovers for the game , converting those to 23 points. This loss came as the biggest one in franchise history.

The Bucks head into the offseason with a bitter taste left in their mouths. Nothing can take away from the successful season they put together this year, who bounced back nicely from being the worst team in the league last season. They pushed an elite Chicago Bulls team (besides laying an egg tonight) to the limit in each of their previous 5 games. "There not a secret anymore" Kidd told the media after the game. " They've got to get better if they want to compete against the best" " The whole experience of the being in the playoffs, you can't take that away from these guys, no matter if you lose by 40 or you lose by one. It's a loss. That's it. You move on"
