MANNY PACQUIAO OPENS NEW FACEBOOK PAGE

PhilBoxing.com

Preacher, singer, actor, basketball player, boxer, politician, which Manny Pacquiao do you know?

The multi-faceted Filipino sports icon's involvement in so many fields has somehow blurred lines separating his different personas.

Yesterday, with the help of friends who have been with him since the days when he was still an unknown boxer, Pacquiao, fondly called the Pacman by his fans, launched a Facebook page which would clearly define him as a political leader.

Barely a day after it was posted, the Facebook page MannyoftheMasses, immediately gained almost 1,000 "Likes" and attracted half a million readers.

An article which introduced the page said:

"2016 will mark the sixth year of Congressman Manny Pacquiao's involvement in the field of politics.

"As the only active athlete to become a member of Congress, the first five years of Cong. Pacquiao were marked by periods where he had to take a leave from his duties as representative of the lone district of Saranggani to prepare for big sports events which undeniably brought honor to the country.

"His five year stint as Congressman, however, was marked by his faithful adherence to his mission to serve his people and to stand by his firm belief in the sanctity of life and compassion for the poor.

"With his boxing career facing an inevitable end within the next few years, Manny Pacquiao, the street kid who defied the odds and overcame poverty to become the world's only 8-division boxing world champion, looks at the vast political horizon and starts to lay out his plans for a career of service to the masses.

This page will serve as Manny Pacquiao's link to the people who have followed his career as a boxing star and now as a political leader.

"Starting today, Manny Pacquiao, the political leader, will share with his followers his thoughts on major issues confronting the country and his vision for the Philippines that he would like his children, grandchildren and the next generation of Filipinos to live in.

"Welcome to MannyoftheMasses on Facebook."

Representing the Lone District of Saranggani, Pacquiao is expected to weigh in on major political issues confronting the country today, including the controversial Bangsamoro Basic Law which will affect his province which has a considerable Bangsamoro population.

Manny Pacquiao, the political leader, will be clearly defined in the MannyoftheMasses on Facebook.
