HARD-HITTING ACTION IN MEXICO THIS WEEKEND

JAVIER PRIETO VS. JORGE SILVA TO HEADLINE FOX DEPORTES AND CLARO SPORTS CARD IN TULUM

GILBERTO GONZALEZ AND ROBERTO MANZANAREZ APPEAR IN SEPARATE BOUTS

LOS ANGELES (March 26) - Two hard-nosed Mexican warriors will battle it out at Domo Dos Aguas in Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico on Saturday, March 28, as Buenavista, Mexico's Javier "Implacable" Prieto faces Tijuana, Baja California's Jorge "Pantera" Silva in a 10-round welterweight matchup to be televised live on FOX Deportes and Claro Sports.

In the televised co-feature, Mexico City's Gilberto "Flaco" Gonzalez meets Oaxaca, Mexico's David "Nene" Rangel in a 10-round super lightweight division bout. Opening up the televised action rising star Roberto "Tito" Manzanarez of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, will square off against Edgar "Lupillo" Ramirez of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico in a 10-round super lightweight contest.

Prieto vs. Silva is10-round welterweight bout presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Cancun Boxing de Pepe Gomez. The FOX Deportes broadcast begins at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT and the Claro Sports broadcast airs at 10:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. PT.

Eager to get back to his winning ways after two hard-fought draws with Ivan Cano and a December loss to Jorge Linares, 27-year-old Javier "Implecable" Prieto (24-8-2, 18 KOs) is wasting no time getting back into the ring against a worthy opponent in Jorge Silva. A nine-year professional, Prieto has been showing top-notch form with a 10-fight unbeaten streak only being snapped by Linares. On March 28, Prieto will be firing on all cylinders as he looks to start a new winning streak.

Looking to add a win to his resume, Tijuana, Baja California's exciting prospect Jorge "Pantera" Silva (20-7-2, 16 KOs). Just 23 years old, "Pantera" has had tough bouts against Pablo Cesar Cano, Alan Sanchez, Alfredo Angulo and Yoshihiro Kamegai. He is ready to show that he has what it takes to compete with the best in the ring on March 28.

A crushing puncher who has scored knockouts in 19 of his 23 wins, Gilberto "Flaco" Gonzalez (23-3, 19 KOs) will attempt to extend his five-fight winning (and knockout) streak on March 28. Fresh from a fifth-round knockout of unbeaten Jeffrey Fontanez last August, "Flaco" will try to keep the momentum going in his promising career against Oaxaca's David Rangel.

A professional since 2012, David "Nene" Rangel (10-1) has quickly amassed an impressive record with the only blemish against Junior Ramirez for the WBC Youth Silver Super Lightweight title. Rangel is looking to start a new winning streak when he faces Gilberto Gonzalez on March 28.

Unbeaten in eight fights since 2013, 20-year-old phenom Roberto "Tito" Manzanarez (29-1, 24 KOs) makes his first appearance of 2015 this Saturday and he expects this year to be his biggest one yet. In his last two bouts, Manzanarez defeated seasoned veterans Ricardo Castillo and Hector Velasquez and will be looking for more high-profile wins in the coming months.

Edgar "Lupillo" Ramirez (14-9, 11 KOs) is looking start off 2015 strong in his first fight of the year against Manzanarez. A professional since 2008, Ramirez had an impressive two year, 9-fight winning streak all via knockout. His most recent bouts include face offs against Robinson Castellanos, Leopoldo Nunez, Jesus and Angel Rodriguez.
