BRIAN VILORIA SCORES A KO BUT SUFFERS A 7-STITCH CUT
By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Sun, 07 Dec 2014

Glendale, CA: - Former two time world champion, Brian Viloria (35-4-0-2, 20KO) just hours ago got to show the boxing world that he is well on his way back to regain the belts he lost to Juan Francisco Estrada of Mexico at the Cotai Arena in Macau, China.
Viloria with a one picture perfect left hook to the liver, dropped Armando Vasquez (20-14-2, 5KO) of Mexicali, Mexico. Vasquez tried in vain to get up on his feet while the referee counted and barely got up before the count reached 10. However, he was wobbly and definitely in pain as he sunk to the canvas again. With that, the referee waved of the fight giving Viloria a TKO victory at 1:37 of round no. 4.
Viloria?s victory however did not come without a cost. In round two, an accidental head butt produced an inch long cut above his left eyebrow. Fortunately, his team has an experienced cutman who stopped the bleeding thus making the cut a non-factor in the fight.
After the fight, the cut was closed with seven stitches courtesy of a California dermatologist, Dr. Rhonda Rand. This writer was fortunate to have seen the whole procedure from the surgical prep to the application of anesthetic (xylocaine with 1000 epinephrine) to the actual placement of the sutures.
The procedure was short but the result was nice. In a few weeks time Viloria will be good as new and ready to fight again.
Would Zou Shiming be ready perhaps in May 2015? Paging Bob Arum!
