BANGKOK, Thailand — Despite political tensions between their neighboring big nations, fight girls Aliya Soomro of Pakistan (on the left) and Monika Singh of India are all set to compete for the Youth World Title in Boxing!!
Yes indeed, in an important matchup for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) Light Flyweight Youth World title, Pakistani boxer Aliya Soomro (4-0, 2 KOs) and Indian fighter Monika Singh (9-2, 4 KOs) are set to clash September 6 at the World Siam Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
For that, the two boxing girls successfully made weight, with Aliya Soomro tipping the scales at 48 kilos and much taller Monika Singh reaching the division's limit at 49 kilos.
After the weigh-in, both teams met for the mandatory rules meeting with fight supervisor Carlos Costa of Cebu, where they showed beautiful sportsmanship by shaking hands. Now, they're ready to rumble!
The match will be broadcast LIVE in Thailand on WorkPoint Channel 23, and worldwide for free on the YouTube Channel of TL Boxing Promotion, the show starting exactly at 2 pm Thailand Time (12 noon in Pakistan, 1 pm in India).
Their 8-round battle promises to be an entertaining encounter between these young athletes from India and Pakistan, the winner becoming Boxing Youth World Champion.
Good luck to both young fighters, May the Best Girl Win! 🇵🇰🇮🇳🇵🇭👍🥊
