NBA -- Hawks prey on Nets, win five straight
By Ben Paz PhilBoxing.com Sat, 06 Dec 2014

BROOKLYN -- The Atlanta Hawks built an early lead that the Brooklyn Nets could not overcome in a 98-75 win on Friday night at the Barclays Center.
The Hawks extended their win streak to five and improved their record to 12-6. The Nets, meanwhile, fell to 8-10.
Brooklyn led after one quarter, 18-16, but the Nets went cold in the second quarter where Atlanta's DeMarre Carroll outscored the entire Brooklyn team, 14-13, and the Hawks went to halftime leading 52-31.
Carroll ended with a team-high 18 points. Paul Millsap scored 17 points with nine rebounds. Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder combined for 10 assists rpoduced 14 and 13 points respectively.
Nets center Brook Lopez had 20 points and seven rebounds while Joe Johnson was the only other double digit scorer for Brooklyn with 12. The Nets struggled on the field, shooting just 37.5 field percent. They also had 17 turnovers.
"Let it go, get some rest, be ready to go... You come back and play," said Nets head coach Lionel Hollins after the game.
