MAASIN CITY FIESTA 2014 BOXING SHOWDOWN By Maloney L. Samaco PhilBoxing.com Thu, 14 Aug 2014  In connection with the Maasin City Fiesta on August 15, 2014, an invitational boxing showdown was held yesterday at the City Bus Terminal adjacent to the market, mall, carnival and baratillo stalls. The boxing aficionados were once again treated to numerous boxing bouts, actually thirty pairs, adding gaiety to the festive atmosphere. The affair was attended by AIBA one-star international referees Dr. Mark Abalos and Loudie Therese Ciriales who earlier conducted a refresher course to our judges and referees. The big boxing bonanza made Maasin City live up to its reputation as "The Boxing Capital of Eastern Visayas."
