NBA Playoffs -- Carter's 3 gives Mavs 2-1 lead over Spurs

SAN FRANCISCO -- Don't look now, but the No.1 overall seed in this year's NBA playoffs is in trouble against the No.8 ranked team in the Western Conference.
Vince Carter nailed a baseline 3 at the buzzer, sending the Dallas Mavericks to 109-108 Game 3 win Saturday afternoon at the American Airlines Center. The victory handed the Mavs a 2-1 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs in their best-of-7 first-round series.
Prior to Carter's heroics, Manu Ginobili gave the Spurs a 2-point lead on a nifty driving basket with 1.7 seconds to go.

After losing Game1 at the AT&T Center, the Mavs have beaten the Spurs twice to seize home court advantage. Dallas goes for a commanding 3-1 bubble when both teams tangle again Monday night (Tuesday AM in Manila) at the American Airlines Center.
"I don't mind the pressure shots. I don't mind missing it and dealing with it," the 37-year old Carter told NBA-TV
While Carter provided the winning margin, it was Monta Ellis who kept Dallas afloat against the tough Spurs, scoring 29 points on 12 for 22 shooting. Dirk Nowitzki finished with 18 and 7 boards and point guard Jose Calderon added 16 and 9 assists. Samuel Dalembert added 13 and 10 boards. (RM)
