ACTOR PAUL WALKER DIES IN CAR CRASH

PhilBoxing.com

Walker.
To many Filipinos, particularly those who are not into the movie business, actor Paul Walker is not known. But in Southern California particularly those who love fast cars and fast and furious movies, Walker was a legend.

The 40 year old Walker died last Saturday in a car crash in Sta. Clarita, California.

He was there attending a charity event of his organization called Reach Out Worldwide formed two years ago as a ?quick response first aid organization. ROW was raising funds for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines.

The fund raising event was held at his friend?s place called Always Evolving Performance Motors. The business is co-owned by Walker and his friend, 38 year old Roger Rodas who was at the wheel of the car when it crashed.

Paul Walker gained famed and fortune as an undercover detective in a very successful show series called ?The Fast and Furious.? He plays the role of Bryan O?Connor.

After attending the charity event, Walker, according to those in the know, hopped in a red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT sports car driven by Rodas and headed towards the next city called Valencia for a spin. Rodas was a pro car racer.

Just down the street, at about the 28300 block of a place called Rye Canyon Loop, the car went out of control, flew off the road and slammed into a tree. The violent force mangled the car which then burst into flames trapping and killing the two.

?It was engulfed in flames. There was nothing. They were trapped,? said one of the first people that raced to the scene.

At around 3:30 PM Los Angeles emergency crew were called to the scene of the accident and came upon a badly mangled burning car that struck a tree. At the time of the arrival of the crew, both passengers in the car were already dead.

Walker according to friends died doing what he loved, driving fast cars.

A friend indicated that ?the world lost an angel in Paul. He dedicated so much of his life helping disadvantaged kids and people who are in need with his charity recently assisting those in the tornadoes in the Midwest and the typhoon in the Philippines

Walker?s show credits include Varsity Blues, Into the Blue, Flags of Our Father and Takers.

According to the LA County Sheriff?s Office, although the cause of the accident is not definite yet, speed has something to do with the crash.

Walker is survived by his 15 year daughter, Meadow.
