ROACH ORDERS CLOSED-DOOR TRAINING FOR PACQUIAO By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Thu, 24 Oct 2013 GENERAL SANTOS ? As Pacquiao's training camp for his November 24 date (Nov 23 in North America) with Brandon Rios in Macau enters the most crucial phase, Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach has ordered a closed-door training for eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao at Pacquiao's Wildcard Gym here. ?Roach complained that there are too many people around,? Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz told Philboxing. ?I told him we'll do it after Thursday's media day and we'll only have the most essential personnel around when Pacquiao trains.? A throng of media people from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau will be in Gensan to watch Pacquiao train today. Top Rank boss Bob Arum and his publicist Fred Stenburg have also come to be with the Chinese media. But after today, even the local media are no longer invited to watch Pacquiao train, according to Koncz. Koncz also ordered Team Pacquiao's in-house cameramen to not post any photos or videos of Pacquiao's training in the social media or give anything to any media outlet without permission. During Wednesday's workout, a few media outlet that were allowed to watch the training were prohibited to take photo or video on Pacquiao doing the mitts with Roach. Manila Standard and Philboxing's Ronnie Nathanielsz complained, saying ?how can I report that Pacquiao is doing awesome in training when I am not allowed to have video clips? I could be accused of fabricating stories.? But that is how it's going to be in the next three weeks before Team Pacquiao breaks camp on November 18 and head to Macau, China.
