TWO FILIPINO BOXERS LOSE IN WBA REGIONAL TITLE FIGHTS IN UKRAINE

PhilBoxing.com

Two Filipino boxers have lost in WBA regional title fights at the Donbass Arena in Donetsk, Ukraine.

Juan Purisima lost by a near shutout to Artem Dalakian in a WBA flyweight International title fight while Jason “Dodong” Canoy lost by a 7th round technical decision to Oleksandr Hryschuk in a WBA flyweight Intercontinental title fight on the same card.

The undefeated 26 year Dalakian improved his record to 8-0 with 5 knockouts while the 22 year old Purisima dropped to 11-4-1 with 4 knockouts.

All three judges had Dalakian winning comfortably by scores of 120-115, 120-106 and 119-106.

The 27 year old Hryshchuk also kept his unbeaten in record intact with the win over Canoy and improved to 13-0 with 5 knockouts while the 23 year old Canoy dropped to 16-4-2 with 11 knockouts.

Hryshchuk won the vacant WBA Intercontinental 112 pound title with a 2nd round TKO over Gabor Molnar of Hungary last April 5 while Dalakian won the vacant WBA International 112 pound crown with a 1st round knockout of David Kanalas last April 5.
