NBA -- Clippers keep flying, win 13 straight
By Ryan Medida PhilBoxing.com Tue, 25 Dec 2012

SAN FRANCISCO -- Barely 48 hours after setting a franchise record of 12 straight wins, the Los Angeles Clippers kept raising the bar and stretched their streak to 13.
This time, the high-flying Clippers easily demolished the overmatched Suns, 108-77, Sunday night at the US Airways Center in Phoenix.
"They're probably the best team in the league. They're playing like it now," Suns coach Alvin Gentry told NBA.com before the game.
The Clippers didn't disappoint. Led by power forward Blake Griffin's 23 points and 11 rebounds and ace point guard Chris Paul's 17 points and 13 assists, the Clippers converted 38 of 71 field goals and 11 of 21 threes. After a narrow 28-24 first quarter lead, the Clippers built their advantage to 58-43 at halftime before blowing the game completely wide open with a 33-17 thrid quarter blitz.
Los Angeles also got 22 points from Jamal Crawford and 15 from Matt Barnes off the bench. The Clippers improved to 21-6 and they now have a three--and-a-half game lead over the 18-10 Golden State Warriors in the tightly-contested Pacific Division.
Despite their league-high 13 consecutive victories, Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro believes his team can still get even better. "We've got to get Chauncey Billups back. And we've got to get Grant Hill back," he said.
Jared Dudley finished with 19 points and seven rebounds while Luis Scola netted 11 and four rebounds for Phoenix.
But it wasn't nearly enough as the struggling Suns converted only 29 of 80 field goals (36.2 percent) and made just three of 17 triples (17.6 percent). The Suns also missed eight of their 24 free throws.
At 11-17, Phoenix fell further down the bottom of the Pacific Division. (RM)
