NBA -- L.A. Clippers make it ten in a row

SAN FRANCISCO -- The streaking L.A. Clippers extended their win-streak to ten games Monday night when they beat the Detroit Pistons, 88-76, at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan.
After a close first half where they clung to a slim 42-40 edge, the Clippers dropped 12 unanswered points to surge ahead 58-46 with 7:40 left in the third quarter. Los Angeles would not relinquish that lead and notch another comfortable triumph.
Power forward Blake Griffin and reserve Jamal Crawford handled much of the scoring for the Clips with 15 points apiece. Chris Paul directed the offense with seven assists and 14 points. Big men DeAndre Jordan and Lamar Odom combined for 12 points and 21 rebounds.
"It's hard to do but we're steadily making progress at both ends of the court. With half the team being new, it took us awhile to trust each other and know each other's games. We're coming along as far as that goes and I really think the sky's the limit as long as we continue to build good habits," forward Matt Barnes said of the Clippers, who improved to 18-6 to lead the tough Pacific Division.
As they have all season, the 7-20 Pistons struggled with their shots, making just 29-of-71 field goals including 7-for-20 from three-point range. They also made 17 turnovers and were outrebounded 42-34.
Brandon Knight led Detroit with 16 points and Tayshaun Prince chipped in 15. Greg Monroe and Kyle Singler finished with 11 each. (Joan Secuya-Medida)
