NBA -- George goes wild, Pacers beat Bulls
By Alexander Gardunio PhilBoxing.com Thu, 06 Dec 2012
After coming off his worst start putting up 0 points, Paul George laid down 34 points and 9 boards to lead the Pacers to a 80-76 victory over the Chicago Bulls. He led all scorers shooting 14-25 in 41 minutes of play along with 3 steals and a couple of blocks. David West was quiet on the night with only 10 points on 3-12 shooting. Nate Robinson came up big in the fourth quarter with 11 of his team high 19 on the night but that also came with 3 of Robinson’s 4 turnovers in the game. Nate provided a much needed spark midway through the fourth with 3 big buckets on successive possessions but in the end could not handle the ball properly ending with 19 team turnovers.
With a controversial call toward the end of regulation in which Luol had a mid-air collision with center Roy Hibbert, lost control of the ball and David West grabbed the rebound to send himself to the line and seal the game.
Thibodeau said, “In my eyes, (Deng) got wiped out. I’m not going to put it on the officials. We’ve still got to get it done. It was a tough call against us.” In classy fashion and throughout the interviews the team all felt that there were no excuses and they should have played with more intensity as a team.
