NBA -- Bulls hunt for Timberwolves By Artemio Mesiona PhilBoxing.com Sat, 20 Oct 2012 ![]() CHICAGO -- After a fumbling start that saw them nosedive to a 1-3 won-lost slate in this 7-game exhibition schedule, the Chicago Bulls hope to right the ship further and score another victory when they host the injury-laden Minnesota Timberwolves Friday night at the United Center. The Bulls aim for their second win in a row after outlasting the Milwauke Bucks, 100-94, last Tuesday at the U.C. behind the heroics of Nate Robinson, who logged 24 points and 13 assists with zero turnovers. Robinson played the point guard position exclusively that night as Kirk Hinrich rested with a sore right thumb while superstar Derrick Rose continues to rehailittate the surgically-repaired torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee. But with Hinrich inserted back into the starting lineup, Robinson won't have to carry all the burden against the Timberwolves. Richard Hamilton, Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng constitute the rest of the starting unit of Bulls head coach Tom Thibdeau. Even without their prized point guard Ricky Rubio, who is also mending from a torn ACL sustained last season, the Timberwolves are faring well with a 3-1 record. But they recently got the devastating news that All-Star power forward Kevin Love will be sidelined due to a broken hand, a mishap that occurred in practice. "You never like to see anybody hurt. That's the unfortunate part of the game. They're a very deep team. They've added a lot. They're still to me very dangerous. But Rubio and Love are two terrific players, so that's unfortunate," Thibodeau said the Timberwolves. The Bulls play two more preseason skirmishes --- Oct 23 vs the Oklahoma City Thunder and Oct. 26 vs the Indiana Pacers -- before formally opening their regular season campaign by hosting the Sacramento Kings on October 31 at the United Center.
