NBA -- Bulls hold off Bucks at U.C. By Artemio Mesiona PhilBoxing.com Thu, 18 Oct 2012 CHICAGO -- With Kirk Hinrich sitting out due to a sore right thumb, 5-foot-9 sparkplug Nate Robinson handled the point guard duties exclusively Tuesday night and led the host Chicago Buls to a 100-94 preseason triumph over the Milwaukee Bucks at the United Center. The league's only three-time slam dunk champion, Robinson finished with 24 points, 13 assists and zero turnovers in 36 minutes of action. The former New York Knick sank 7-of-16 field goals including 4-of-8 from 3-point range. He was also perfect from the free throw line, 6-for-6. The Bulls, who will miss star point guard Derrick Rose for the first few months of the upcoming 2012-13 season, improved their preseason mark to 2-2. While Robinson was the point man in the entertaining clearly the leader of the back-and-forth encounter, he got ample support from other notbale Bulls. Richard Hamilton registered 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting while pivot Joakim hauled down a massive 12 rebounds to go along with his 16 points. Carlos Boozer chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds.while Luol Deng struggled with five markers. The Bulls converted 37 of 79 shots (46.8 percent), 4-of-10 treys and 22 of 25 free throws (88 percent). They outrebounded the Bucks 44-42 and dished more assists, 24-19. It was an extremely entertaining skirmirsh that featured eight lead changes and six ties. After opening the second quarter with a 17-2 run, the Bulls leaned on a strong third quarter to assume a commanding 79-63 bubble. They used that cushion to hold off the stubborn Bucks, who missed 50 of 86 field goals for an anemic 41.9 percent clip. Center Samuel Dalembert paed Milwaukee with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Brandon Jennings and Mike Dunleavy Jr, chipped in 13 points apiece. The usually explosive Monta Ellis had a relatively quiet eight points on 3-of-8 shooting as the Bucks dropped to 2-1 in preseason foray.
