THE RACE FOR BOXING SUPREMACY IS NOW SIGNING ON!

PhilBoxing.com

With reports that Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao is ready to give in to the demands of Floyd Mayweather to random blood testing, the RACE FOR BOXING SUPREMACY between the two top boxers in the planet is now a hot topic among boxing fans.

Boxing fans are dying to see Pacman fights Mayweather and put his WBO welterweight crown on the line, but to no avail because of the issue over random blood testing that canceled previous fight negotiations.

On June 20, 2010, I wrote an article entitled: PACMAN-MONEY FIGHT: THE RACE FOR BOXING SUPREMACY which compared the unseen variables of the aforementioned two elite fighters in order assist boxing fans in their predictions once the fight of the century happens. The following variables are:

DRIVING FORCE

− Manny fights for God, country, people, and his constituentWHs in the lone legislative district of the province of Sarangani. Monetary consideration, therefore, I would say, is only secondary
considering the wealth he accumulated throughout the years.

− Money May ? fight for money to finance his lifestyle, fame and fortune.

FIGHTING STYLE

− Manny ? extremely ferocious and relentless in his attacks, able to throw powerful punches at a blinding speed in different angles, thereby putting his opponents in a defensive mode. His superb footwork and unparalleled balance enables him to unleash explosive and thundering punches which usually end the bouts ahead of schedule.

− Mayweahter ? a defensive wizard with pin point accuracy in his counter attack be it in the body or in the face of his opponents. His perfect defensive stance puts opponents into a sheer dancing buddy, who would always dance to the music of Money May. His laser guided and razor sharp speedy punches would accumulate points and eventually bring frustrations towards
his opponents.

ATTITUDE

− Manny ? projects the image of a humble yet ferocious fighter in the ring.

− Mayweather ? embrace the image of a villain especially during promotion of his fights. Because of this, fans would love to see him lose and put an end to his perfect record.

RING PERFORMANCE

− Manny - endeared not only by the fight fans, but also all the people throughout the world owing to his humility in and out of the ring. But, once the bell rings, his animal instinct and warrior-like attitude starts to takeover like a possessed fighter. This, unlike other fighters, brings excitement into the fight no matter who the opponent is.

− Mayweather ? his superb conditioning and unparalleled counterpunching style coupled with his excellent footwork and blazing handspeed enables him to beat his opponents very easily. His defensive and counterpunching style had been very effective for him, but to the fans, the same had been very tiresome and a humdrum to watch. However, this boring style gives him a perfect undefeated record.

QUALITY OF OPPONENTS

− Manny ? defeated the Mexican legends in the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera (126 pounds, Erick Morales (126 pounds), Juan Manuel Marquez (130 pounds), American David Diaz (135 pounds), British sensation Ricky Hatton (140 pounds), another legend in Oscar de la Hoya (147 pounds), the great Miguel Angel Cotto (147 pounds). Please observe that when these fighters fought Manny, all them are in their prime and notably in the peak of their career, and inarguably the number one in the division they are fighting.

− Money May - defeated Arturo Gatti, (140 pounds), Zab Judah (147 pounds), Carlos Baldomir (147 pounds), Oscar DeLaHoya (154 pounds) Ricky Hatton (147 pounds and Juan Manuel Marquez (147 pounds), and Shane Mosley (147 pounds). Please note that when Money fought these fighters, they were not anymore in the pinnacle of their careers nor being in the top 5 in the weight division they were fighting.

Having laid down all the useful tools in arriving at a more realistic individual predictions in the much coveted race for boxing supremacy, coupled with the latest development of Pacquiao having agreed to Money May's condition of random blood testing, the RACE FOR THE BOXING SUPREMACY IS ON.

What is thrilling on this race is the energy, ferocity and superb mind and body conditioning that these titans will bring into the ring. Fans expect to see action from start to finish with their contrasting and never-surrender attitude in the fight, for, a win in this fight would cement his legacy as SUPREME fighter of all time.

Who knows, there lies an intriguing boxing trilogy between Manny and Money May in the future.

But, even if reports say that Bob Arum has now stated that Pacman will agree to Money's demand on random blood testing, there is no absolute guaranty that the fight would materialize since they will not agree to the random blood testing to be performed by the USADA. Instead, they would prefer that a neutral organization to perform the tests.

No doubt, this statement would stir the wheel of fortune and cause uncertainty on the part of Money May on whether or not to agree on such stipulation. Rumor has it that Mayweather wants the USADA to supervise the random test because of the issue of credibility and tampering.

Whatever the outcome of this new development, boxing fans are extremely happy that the RACE FOR BOXING SUPREMACY IS NOW SIGNING ON!
